Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PROppeal (“PROppeal,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the PROppeal mobile app and this website (together, the “Service”).
The short version: We collect the property and account details needed to find comparable sales and build your appeal. We share data only with the providers that make the Service work — property-data sources, our AI letter drafter, Apple, and our cloud hosts. We don’t sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
- Property & appeal information. The address and details of the property you’re appealing, assessment figures, parcel ID, the photos and captions you add as evidence, the reasons you select, and the name, contact details, and signature you include on the letter.
- Account information. If you sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple identifier and the name and email you choose to share — which may be an Apple private-relay email.
- Purchases. Credit purchases are processed by Apple. We receive purchase and receipt-validation data and your credit balance — not your full payment-card details.
- Messages you send us. If you email us (including the address on this website), we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
- Notice scans & photos. When you scan an assessment notice, text recognition runs on your device; the values it extracts (e.g., assessed value, deadline) become part of your appeal. Photos you add are stored so they can be included as evidence.
- Diagnostic information. Limited device and error information to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2. How we use information
- Find and evaluate comparable sales for your property.
- Build your appeal letter and evidence summary.
- Process purchases and manage your credit balance.
- Send deadline reminders, if you enable notifications.
- Provide support, maintain security, and improve the Service.
- Respond to messages you send us.
3. How we share information
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Property-data providers. We send the property address and details to licensed third-party property-data providers to retrieve comparable sales and property records.
- AI letter drafting. To draft your letter, the relevant appeal details are processed by our AI provider (currently Anthropic, the maker of Claude). Your data is not used to train their models.
- Apple. For Sign in with Apple and to process purchases.
- Cloud infrastructure. We use Google Firebase / Google Cloud to host our backend and store your appeal data, and Cloudflare to host this website.
- Legal & safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Data retention and your choices
- Delete your account. You can delete your account and associated data from within the app. This removes your stored appeals and personal data from our systems, except records we’re required to keep (such as purchase records).
- Backup is optional. Cloud backup of your appeals only happens if you turn it on / sign in.
- Notifications. You can disable reminders any time in your device settings.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security.
6. Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, California and certain other U.S. states), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Most of your data can be accessed or deleted directly in the app; for anything else, contact us.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
